The Baby Basics Program, developed by the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa, is a concise one-hour orientation course tailored for parents, caregivers, and families. It focuses exclusively on emergency response for infants and newborns, providing critical skills in infant CPR and choking relief.

The course is designed to be completed prior to the arrival of a baby, empowering participants to act confidently in the event of a medical emergency. With a strong emphasis on hands-on practice under instructor supervision, this program ensures foundational preparedness without the pressure of formal testing.

Though it is a participation-only course with no certification, all attendees receive a comprehensive kit to reinforce learning and ensure ongoing readiness.
